Every month, Seven Arts in Chapel Allerton plays host to Kill for a Seat; a comedy night organised and compared by local comedian, Silky. If you’re not sure comedy is for you, or have a slight fear of live comedy, (being picked out the crowd was my fear – hasn’t happened) this night is a great introduction for you. It’s a friendly atmosphere, and everyone just wants to have a good time, without the relentless beer swilling and boisterous heckling you might encounter at other comedy clubs.
Giggle like a small child
Silky is the perfect host. His wit is sparkling, but never cruel and he makes you giggle like a small child. He also adds some music to the mix, always having his guitar to hand, and often creating songs off the cuff. He gets in great acts too, like Mitch Benn, Gary Delaney and Tom Wrigglesworth to name but a few
Great venue for comedy
Seven Arts is a great venue for comedy. The room is designed for theatre, so the lighting is perfect and the seating climbs upwards meaning you will always get a good view. It also has a relaxing bar serving a great selection of drinks and some fantastic, locally sourced food. The meals are mouth wateringly tasty so it’s well worth arriving early for a plateful of deliciousness before the night’s entertainment.
If you fancy getting your ribs tickled, give Kill for a Seat at Seven a try, do book as tickets sell out fast!
